This is motivated by politicians wanting to control the lives of people, and his opinion is that what the politicians want to do in regard to Global Warming will hamper civilization for a very long time. And he should know, because he lived under Communism for so many years.
When will Westerners listen? We seem to forget how many people were killed under Communism under repressive regimes, how corrupt and inept government was at running every aspect in its peoples lives. Yes, I generalize, but we seem to forget all the descriptions of life in the former Soviet Union and the countries under its thumb. Socialism should be thrown permanently in the garbage bin of history. Socialism, at least as it is presently constructed, is Communism lite, and it simply doesn't work. We need to quit listening to socialists of the Democrat party, and the foolish people of Hollywood who seem to have trouble enough getting their own lives under control.
