Projection and the Democrat Double-Standard

I posted this comment on another blog, but I decided to post the same comment here myself, because I think it's such an important point.

Not that I place a lot of stock in psychology, but in psych class one learns of the idea of "projection" where you project your attitudes and suppositions to others.

For 8 years, leftists attributed their worst fears to Bush and assumed that his intentions were always the worst, taking the "slippery slope" approach to logic about him. They assumed this, because that's the way they ACTUALLY govern, promoting as much fear and chaos as possible when they are in control.

Now, as commentators complain about Obama, they are charged with racism. The absolute worst motives are attributed to anyone against Obama. Unfortunately, I think the reality is, he's going to be a lousy president, a "presidential reincarnation" of Jimmy Carter.

Note however, the double standard in hoping that this president fails:

The blog where I commented at is: http://nahealth.blogspot.com/
We'll link it at the side of the page too.

Addendum: Carville fired back at Rush Limbaugh, saying that he retracted his statement that he wanted Bush to fail: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/11/carville-lashes-limbaugh/

After listening to the Democrats for the 8 years of Pres. George W. Bush, I think it's pretty obvious though that his "retraction" didn't fit Democrat actions. He might say he retracted, but the reality is, Democrats wanted Bush to fail in every way, and the unfair media coverage we witnessed made it pretty clear. -Cal Samuel August
