Rush Limbaugh: Canary in the Mine

Americans, you need to start paying attention!  You need to know how Democrats are damaging your freedoms.  This morning it was reported that Democrats are starting an online petition.  Against what?  Against Rush Limbaugh.  Why are they doing this?  Because Rush Limbaugh said that he wanted Barack Obama to fail.   (See articles linked at very bottom of this one).

Meanwhile, it was last Friday that Obama essentially told Republicans that they need to stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and start getting along.  So, while George Bush was president and Republicans were in charge in Congress, when did we ever hear the Democrats stop caterwauling about all the terrible things that Bush was doing as the war on terror was being fought?  In the meantime, the New York Times and other media sources leaked information that hurt our national security.

Our government depends on competition between the two parties.  Let's be honest.  Our freedoms are protected generally when government ISN'T getting things done.  Government impedes and blocks our freedom.  The more regulation there is, the more difficult it is for industry and hard-working people to get things done in this country.  It's not the government who produces and makes our economy the giant that it is: it is YOU the people.

When Rush Limbaugh, a private citizen is being attacked publicly by politicians, this is not good behavior.  Folks, you've heard liberals rail for decades about the McCarthy era.  Well, this is the liberal version of it.  Rush, however, is only the canary in the mine.  He absolutely has a right to speak out against the president, and not be attacked while he earns a livelihood.  If he were sharing national security secrets over the air, that would be quite a different thing.  This is one man speaking out against a president who is used to clearing the playing field.  That's how leftists work, and if you aren't listening, you ought to be.

If Rush Limbaugh wasn't effective and right on so many things, what could Democrats possibly have to fear?  His program would be irrelevant wouldn't it?  But it's not.  As it is, 45.7 % of Americans voted against Barack Obama.  They have a voice, just not as loud because they aren't able to use the mainstream media as a mouthpiece.  Democrats would do well to listen to Rush and start implementing some of his ideas.  Instead, they have to abuse their power and attack him.  This should be offensive to Americans.  Free speech belongs to us all!

Barack Obama's win was not the landslide that Reagan had in the 80's against Mondale.  Not even close.  Included is a link to a Wikipedia look at 2008's election results.  Look at a political map of states that went John McCain, you'll find that the middle of the country went mostly McCain.  Scroll down, and you'll see a look at which counties went Obama and which for McCain.  By county, the map is OVERWHELMINGLY for McCain.  It's instructive.  I'd venture to say that many, many Americans agree with Rush, and just because he disagrees with Obama does not mean he should be silenced.  It is therefore my opinion that a petition should be started rebuking Democrats for their misbehavior.  What better person to start the petition than Rush?  -Cal Samuel August.  Copyright 2009.  All rights reserved.

  1. Very profound statement that I couldn't agree with more: "Our freedoms are protected generally when government ISN'T getting things done".
You should really copyright that one.

  2. I think conservatives say it all the time. Just this way: "Government hinders private/free enterprise."
